The Ella Centre exists to provide people with disabilities, dementia, older people and their carers with activities, services and supports which increase their enjoyment of life and enable them to participate in the community. We provide our service users with valued and fulfilling activities and services respecting their dignity and independence. We ensure carers are valued, supported, and have confidence in their futures. Our casual support staff support our disability programs, Individual support and Young Adults Social Services.
The Ella Centre is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic part-time payroll officer to provide support for a not-for-profit disability care organisation. This support will be in line with the NDIS Standards and Code of Conduct.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
To assist the Finance Manager and Executive team in the provision of accounting and payroll services to the organisation for 2 days per week.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Excellent MYOB skills ideally with experience in using the Accountright Plus software.
- Extensive end to end payroll processing experience in an autonomous role, ideally for a payroll of more than 50 people.
- Experience with the SCHADS award, and general knowledge of payroll principles of PAYG, Superannuation, Allowances,
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel and Word).
- Strong planning, multitasking and time-keeping skills
- Ability to assist with other financial tasks
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- Understanding the NDIS and claims management process.
- Experience with MYP
- Accounting experience, including accounts receivable and payable, bank reconciliations, cash handling and banking
- Able to undertake general office duties as required e.g. filing, reception.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including answering staff, supplier, service user and carer enquiries.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team and escalate issues as necessary.
- Experience in the community sector and with Salary Sacrifice arrangements
- Strong time commitment skills including setting objectives and priorities and planning and organising to meet deadlines both internally and with external agencies.
- Understanding of and commitment to the work of The Ella Centre.
