Coordinator - Community Visitors Scheme

Elder Rights Australia Ltd.

About Elder Rights Advocacy

Our mission is to support older people’s right to quality care. We are a state-wide, Victorian non-profit organisation established in 1990 as Residential Care Rights Inc.

Our advocacy, information and community education covers all forms of care for older people, with a focus on Australian Government-funded home care and residential care.

Context for the Coordinator Community Visitors Scheme position

This is a new position. We gained Community Visitor Scheme (CVS) funding for the first time in 2019. Our initial CVS contract runs to 30th June 2021.

CVS is an Australian Government scheme that funds organisations to coordinate volunteers to visit recipients of Australian Government subsidised aged care services (residential and home care) who are socially isolated and whose quality of life would be improved by friendship and companionship.

Our CVS service is focused in regional Victoria and involves both home care (45 volunteers) and residential care (45 volunteers). The CVS Coordinator will recruit and support volunteers across Victoria’s 5 aged care planning regions: Loddon-Mallee; Hume; Barwon South Western; Grampians and Gippsland (an average of 9 volunteers for both home care and residential care per region).

Salary, Hours and Office Location

Salary is based on SCHADS Level 6 PP1-2, currently $40.39-$41.80 per hour, with salary packaging also available. EFT optional from 0.8 (60.8 hrs per f/n) to 1.0 (76 hrs per f/n), including 9-day fortnight (0.9). Please specify preference in your application. This is a contract position to 30th June 2021. Some flexibility exists for office location, including Melbourne or regional Victoria (see full Position Description for more details).
