Shockingly, a woman is killed by her intimate partner on average every week. Imagine the impact you can make by working with women and children experiencing family violence.
We are a leading specialist family violence service in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. Our vision is for our community to be free from family violence where everyone is safe. Previously EDVOS, we’ve just launched our new name and identity to better express the important work we do, and agitate as a change agent for our clients and the community.
We’ve grown to a team of around 150 people in recent years, as response service have expanded following the Royal Commission into Family Violence. We provide access and initial response services in partnership with other agencies through The Orange Doors in Croydon and Box Hill, and case management services through our support and recovery team in Ringwood.
We also work to change attitudes to gender equality to prevent violence from happening in the first place, and equip the community to respond to disclosures of abuse. We do this through a range of initiatives delivered by our primary prevention, education and training team.
We apply an intersectional lens to all of our work. Our approach is trauma informed, strengths based, and person centred.
What our clients are saying:“My case manger supported me with deep care. She helped me in every aspect through her wisdom and patience. She makes sure that I am doing well. Without her, I wouldn’t be as hopeful."
What our people are saying: “I love the culture at FVREE and how supportive the environment is. It’s something I had not experienced until I came here.”
As a Practitioner in the Orange Door, you’ll work closely with a multi-disciplinary team of people from partner agencies to engage primarily with women and children to provide screening, assessment, triage and short-term responses to all incoming referrals for victim-survivors through the Integrated Practice Framework. You’ll also connect victim survivors with other services to ensure a wholistic response.
Some travel may be required for this position in the Outer Eastern Melbourne region.
