Support the development of evidence-based content

The Strategic Procurement Manager works with project teams to plan, develop, implement and manage procurement arrangements to deliver value for money and effectively meet business outcomes.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience in a similar role with knowledge and insight in procurements, projects, and contracts being highly regarded
  • Exceptional organisational skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills including demonstrated ability to draft plain English documents and negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Sound judgement and ability to analyse situations and information and to solve problems creatively and efficiently
  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualifications in administration, business (including procurement), contracts or projects
  • Experience in procurement for a not-for-profit or government organisation

Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate with and influence project teams and divisions to undertake effective, efficient and compliant procurement activities to deliver high quality and value for money outcomes
  • Communicate effectively with potential providers and partners about all stages of the procurement process and manage the internal selection processes
  • Develop AERO costing benchmarks and ensure that they are used to assess reasonableness of provider and partner pricing
  • Monitor procurement processes and contract performance, proactively identify, manage and advise on operational, financial, reputational, ethical and other risks
  • Support organisational learning by creating feedback loops throughout the procurement life-cycle, and by providing internal advice on procurement best practices to improve procurement activity and contract performance
  • Review and update the organisation’s procurement guidelines as necessary
  • Develop innovative procurement and contract management strategies to meet specific business needs, manage risk and deliver value for money
  • Support the development of a preferred suppliers list, and coordinate efforts to identify AERO as a preferred supplier with key external stakeholders
