EV Strengthening Communities is an innovative not-for-profit organisation that has been serving Melbourne communities for over 40 years. EV offers a range of programs aimed at strengthening communities through supporting individuals, organisations and business. We are seeking an experienced Project Co-Ordinator to coordinate the delivery of the Inclusive Tourism Employment Pilot Project alongside our Local Jobs and Volunteer Management Activity teams. This project is funded by the Australian Government, Department of Social Services until 30 June 2024, and aims to increase the opportunities for people experiencing disability to find meaningful and successful tourism employment in the North Eastern metropolitan employment region.
Duties Include:
- To engage at a strategic level tourism business, job service providers, training organisations and employees to prepare and match employees into tourism business who offer inclusive workplace culture
- To implement the agreed activity work plan
- Identify employees through Workforce Australia programs and support them into employment utilising existing initiatives to build sustainability.
- Collaborate with EV’s Local Jobs Team to engage job service providers
- Attend stakeholder engagements that, on occasion, may fall outside normal work hours (and will acquire time in lieu).
- Prepare marketing materials that promote the programs, including the management of social media platforms.
- Provide detailed reporting on activities and outcomes as required.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Demonstrated success as a project manager.
- Experience in the employment or tourism sector desirable
- Demonstrated experience and/or qualifications in the volunteering sector, social work, community development, project management.
- Experience working with those facing barriers to community participation.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships with business and key stakeholders.
- Ability to develop processes and systems to ensure efficient and high-quality service delivery.
- Demonstrated training and mentoring experience.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Suite Applications and experience utilising a range of social media platforms. A familiarity with Mail Chimp, Survey Monkey and Canva is advantageous.
- Confident to take initiative with minimum of supervision.
