The role of administration and membership services office is an important role within the Electrical Trades Union with high levels of member interaction. This role is important in the day to day operation of the union and has regular contact with other employees and officers across the whole union including the Secretary and Assistant Secretary, Operations Officer, Accounts/Finance, Organisers, Legal/Industrial, IT, Media & Communications and the Campaign ETU team.
Location and Reporting Structure:
AMSO’s are responsible for serving members of the ETU and CEPU by responding to requests from members and officers of the union. AMSO’s are responsible for the management of individual member information stored in the union’s membership management system and communicating with members both individually and in groups.
The ETU and CEPU are governed by association rules which impact on the administration of members and the union more broadly, it is important that AMSO’s are familiar with these rules in relation to their role.
AMSO’s are expected to work as part of a team by assisting each other in serving members and meeting the operational needs of the union and by assisting other employees and officers of the union when requested.
The Accounts/Finance role works in close association with AMSO’s due to the nature of work and it is expected that AMSO’s and the financial controller will work in a cooperative, collaborative and constructive manner in order to meet the operational needs of the union.
The role of Administration/Membership Services Officer include, but is not limited to the following role responsibilities:
The ETU supports an environment supporting multi-skilling. Employees are required to be trained in all areas of operation relating to membership services, administration and some financial systems. Employee’s may be directed to undertake work relating to the servicing of members and administration of the ETU.
