The position of Operations Manager is a Tier 2 position in our organisation reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. This is a key role within the EPIS executive management team focused on operations management with demonstrated ability to lead teams, promote quality improvement within a best practice approach, and ensure smooth operations and ongoing development of East Pilbara Independence Support Inc. (EPIS) facilities and staff. We seek to engage a passionate and experienced health care leader to fulfil our regional operations management role. You need to be someone who can provide high-level strategic support to the organisation and are also capable of providing on-the-ground support to our staff and clients.

EPIS Inc. is a not for profit community organisation that provides aged care, disability and nursing services to the communities in the Shire of East Pilbara and the Shire of Ashburton. Expansion and improvement of our services and facilities is constant. We provide care and support services to assist clients to continue to live in their homes and communities. Independence and dignity are the forefront of all our services.

The Opportunity

You will join an executive management team that are looking for opportunities to develop aged care services that are based on the requirements of the elders of this region.  You will need to be innovative and able to guide the development of evidence based quality services while providing staff with the support required to deliver ‘gold standard’ services for clients.  You will value and respect the culture of this region and lead by example to deliver a strong client centric model of service delivery. You will oversee day-to-day operations of our facilities and services across the East Pilbara and the Shire of Ashburton. You will assist and advise with key leadership, facility management and clinical management regarding ongoing improvement, quality control, best practice and the overall success of our services. You will also be responsible for ensuring our facilities and services adhere to our contractual requirements and relevant legislation.  

Selection criteria

  • AHPRA registered nurse with aged care experience
  • Recent working knowledge and understanding of the Aged Care Accreditation Standards, OHS and NDIS
  • A genuine passion to drive excellence in clinical care, evaluate and monitor quality, service and care practices that relate to care recipient outcomes
  • Demonstrated self-initiative and motivation, with the ability to work independently, manage workloads, drive and empower team development and collective commitment
  • Demonstrated leadership experience including the ability to problem solve and manage conflict in a multi-disciplinary environment including workload and performance management
  • Experience in organisational change management
  • Strong financial management skills
  • Experience and knowledge of working with Aboriginal people from remote communities and demonstrable cultural competency
  • Unrestricted WA Driver’s License with appropriate endorsements to transport clients and able to drive off-road and travel across the Pilbara as required
