Eating Disorders Victoria (EDV) is the leading community organisation helping Victorians understand and recover from eating disorders. ROLE STATEMENT
The Manager Telehealth Support Programs is tasked with managing three pivotal programs at Eating Disorders Victoria:
The Wellbeing Program which comprises of:
- Wellbeing Online Support Groups
The Telehealth Nurse Program which comprises of:
- Telehealth patient pathways
The Carer Program which comprises of:
- Online Carer Coaching Program
- Online Carer Coaching Check-in group
- Online Renew Support Group (for cares of people with long term eating disorders)
The position sits within the EDV Clinical and Telehealth Services program, which provides information, clinical support and guidance to Victorians with eating disorders and their families, cares and supports.
Alongside other staff, our aim is help all Victorians with an eating disorder to access the guidance and support they need, with an emphasis on connections between peers.
There is a key focus on early intervention, support and referral to appropriate services across Victoria.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Ensure the smooth management, delivery, promotion and quality improvement of EDV’s Telehealth Support Programs.
- Ensure the programs provide safe, accessible, free, multi-disciplinary and evidence-based service to persons with eating disorders and their families across Victoria.
- Provide program advice and explore any initiatives which offer greater support and navigation for those with an eating disorder and/or their families.
- Ensure staff on the team receive regular professional supervision and are appropriately supported and managed to deliver on their responsibilities.
- Ensure that all elements of the Telehealth Support Programs are evaluated and documented to ensure continuous quality improvement and service delivery.
- Remain up to date with current research and evidence based practice and disseminate this information to the team and more broadly within EDV.
- Build and maintain relationships with external service providers, mental health networks and community.
- Encourage promotion and awareness of eating disorders and EDV’s Telehealth Support Program.
- See opportunities for volunteers/student placements within team and manage allocation, onboarding and support alongside the rest of the team.
- Attend external network meetings; participate in collaborative structures and activities with other service providers within the broader mental health and eating disorder service system where relevant to the Telehealth Support Programs.
- Provide reports to Director Clinical and Telehealth Services, and other as required.
- Attend staff meetings, and other internal meetings; keep up to date with EDV news and sector developments.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential:
- Relevant qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy or counselling with competent understanding of the nature and purpose of eating disorders counselling and support services.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ work experience, including:
- Relevant experience in an eating disorders or mental health setting;
- An excellent understanding of eating disorders and disordered eating, body image and related issues and an understanding of their impact on families, partners and carers;
- Management and supervision of a team;
- A strong understanding of professional confidentiality and privacy practices;
- Telehealth experience.
- The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, to work both autonomously and collaboratively.
- Strong understanding of program design, management and evaluation.
- Experience of working collaboratively with external organisations and networks including establishing links and promoting services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
- The desire and ability to take responsibility for own learning and development.
- Current drivers licence and Working with Children Check.
Desirable:
- Current registration with AHPRA, PACFA, AASW or other relevant peak body
CONDITIONS OF CONTRACT
Location: The position will be based at the EDV office on Level 2 of the Magpies Community Centre (corner Lulie and Abbot Streets, Abbotsford). Please note due to COVID-19, there are restrictions to onsite working and capacity for working from home arrangements. If working from home, you will need access to a stable internet connection.
Employment conditions:
- Normal working hours will be during Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
- Other conditions as mandated by the Fair Work Act.
- Subject to satisfactory Working with Children Check, National Police Check and completion of Conflict of Interest Declaration.
- Probationary period will apply (3-months).
- Please note that the Victorian Government has mandated vaccination for all healthcare workers and people who work within healthcare settings. This means that anyone who works for EDV outside of their ordinary place of residence must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination before their start date.

All EDV staff are required to adhere to the EDV Code of Ethics, Code of Conduct, Core Values and guiding principles and relevant organisational policies, practices and guidelines.
Wellness criteria:
EDV values the lived experience of volunteers, staff and board members in the organisation. For anyone who discloses a history of a mental illness, including eating disorders, we recommend a two-year recovery period and a ‘Declaration of Wellness’ so that all connected with EDV are able to look after themselves and be supported.
