Your Work

You will provide support to children and young people in out of home care, facilitating the time they spend with their families and making sure this is always a safe, fun and special experience for them.

A day in the role of a support worker could look like this:

  • Transporting children/young persons and families to and from access visits, appointments, school, and recreational activities
  • Supervising access visits between children/young persons and their parent/family
  • Participate in care planning to facilitate empowerment and individual support of children/young person.
  • Documenting and maintaining accurate case notes of activities undertaken and ensure the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable people you may be working with.
