The Sapphire Health and Wellbeing Services (SHaWS) is part of Directions Health Services, an innovative, non-profit organisation that has provided specialist alcohol and other drug (AOD) services in the ACT and NSW for over 40 years. Today, we at Directions offer a comprehensive suite of holistic AOD, mental health and primary health services that aim to reduce harms experienced by individuals, families, and communities, and improve overall health and wellbeing. Directions’ multidisciplinary team currently includes a Psychiatrist, Psychologist, Social Workers, Counsellors, Aboriginal Health Workers, Peer Support Workers, GPs, Registered Nurses, Pharmacists and Chemical Analysts. Directions’ capacity to implement innovative services developed in collaboration with our clients, partners, and other stakeholders, enables us to effectively respond to the changing needs of the communities we serve.

SHaWS is based in Bega, NSW, which is part of the beautiful Sapphire Coast (Yuin-Monaro Country). The integrated and respectful AOD, primary health, mental health, and Aboriginal health services that SHaWS provides are based on a holistic, harm minimisation approach to supporting clients. The innovative SHaWS program is delivered by a consortium, led by Directions, in collaboration with consortium members: Grand Pacific Health; Katungul and partner GP practices.
As an AOD & Co-occurring Needs Clinician within SHaWS’ multi-disciplinary team, you will, provide integrated and culturally responsive community-based treatment, including assessment, case management, counselling and support to clients and their friends and families impacted by alcohol and other drug issues. You will develop collaborative working relationships with consortium partners, health, community and justice related services, and other Directions programs to help clients meet their needs and goals
This role is fixed term and part-time - 0.8 FTE (4 days per week).
All appointments will be conditional upon having a NSW Working with Children Check, current First Aid and CPR certification, and a satisfactory National Police Check.
