Deception Bay Neighbourhood Centre (DBNC) is looking for a Family Support Worker to work in our close knit team. You’ll be covering for a team member who’s on long service leave, and working with small dedicated team, using a strengths-based approach to provide support to community members.
The Family Support Worker will provide skilled and responsive support to families with children under 18 years of age. Working in the Outreach for Families program (OFP), the Family Support Worker will support families to build resilience during times of crisis, improve families’ sense of belonging and connection with the local community, and transition to stable circumstances. Using a strengths-based, non-judgemental approach, the Family Support Worker will work alongside families, coordinating service delivery to improve the safety and well-being of children and young people.
Deception Bay Neighbourhood Centre (DBNC) is an incorporated community organisation, whose core business is to provide a range of programs, services, activities and facilities to residents in the Deception Bay area. DBNC’s mission is to be a catalyst in the community for empowering local people to achieve their goals and to advocate for change on issues that impact our community. We do this by supporting and providing local services, activities and initiatives, and working collaboratively to provide opportunities within the community. DBNC has two key documents that guide us in delivering our services; the Community Development Framework and Strategic Plan.
