Role Overview:

We are seeking a Project Manager to oversee and manage the planning, execution, and successful completion of a Peer Support and Self Advocacy project. This exciting new opportunity aligns with our mission to build the independence and capacity of our community, and nurture our future leaders

The Project Manager will take ownership of the coordination and successful delivery of this exciting new project. The role requires an aptitude for building and maintaining close relationships with key stakeholders, staff, presenters, funding partners, third-party facilitators, community groups, local government, health, educators, and the broader community. The role is required to holistically administer and deliver the program from end-to-end including concept development, planning, consultation and codesign, and delivery within grant parameters. You will be supported by experienced staff and the Board as you transition into this role.

This role will be part-time with flexible hours and requires someone with the capacity to occasionally work outside of regular business hours, including some weekends. We expect the ideal candidate to become immersed in our unique, close-knit community.

Experience working with people with sensory loss will be highly regarded, though not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Implementation: Lead the planning and execution of key projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet the objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with staff, Board members, external partners, volunteers, and community members to ensure the success of the project and maintain strong relationships.
  • Resource Management: Allocate and manage resources effectively, including volunteers, staff, and materials, ensuring the project operates efficiently and .
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Track project milestones, prepare progress reports, and update senior management on project status, risks, and achievements.
  • Budget and Financial Oversight: Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring all financial resources are allocated appropriately and spent effectively.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks to project success and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
  • Evaluation: Conduct post-project evaluations to assess outcomes, gather feedback, and contribute to the development of future initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven experience in project management, preferably within a not-for-profit , disability and or social impact environment.
  • Skills:
    • Shared vision and commitment for this community
    • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Experience with project management tools and software.
    • Ability to work collaboratively and lead a team of members, volunteers and staff.
    • Problem-solving skills and the ability to manage challenges effectively.
  • Education: lived experience in similar roles is essential. Formal qualifications rated on individual merit.
