Join Our Team and Make a Difference at DBWA!
Deafblind West Australians (DBWA) established in 2007, is proud to be the only peer support service in Western Australia dedicated to individuals living with deafblindness and their families. We are an inclusive group and also include people with single sensory loss: Deaf, hard of hearing, vision impaired and blind in our membership. As a peer-led, peer-driven organisation, we are committed to raising awareness of deafblindness and championing accessibility within our community.
At DBWA, we work passionately to advocate for our members, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met. Our impact extends beyond Western Australia, as we actively contribute to disability advocacy on both local and national stages.
Be part of a team that’s driving change, fostering connection, and creating a more inclusive future.
We are seeking a Project Manager to oversee and manage the planning, execution, and successful completion of a Peer Support and Self Advocacy project. This exciting new opportunity aligns with our mission to build the independence and capacity of our community, and nurture our future leaders
The Project Manager will take ownership of the coordination and successful delivery of this exciting new project. The role requires an aptitude for building and maintaining close relationships with key stakeholders, staff, presenters, funding partners, third-party facilitators, community groups, local government, health, educators, and the broader community. The role is required to holistically administer and deliver the program from end-to-end including concept development, planning, consultation and codesign, and delivery within grant parameters. You will be supported by experienced staff and the Board as you transition into this role.
This role will be part-time with flexible hours and requires someone with the capacity to occasionally work outside of regular business hours, including some weekends. We expect the ideal candidate to become immersed in our unique, close-knit community.
Experience working with people with sensory loss will be highly regarded, though not essential.
If you are excited about making a difference, and meet the qualifications outlined above, we’d love to hear from you!
