Diamond Valley Learning Centre (DVLC) is a Learn Local, not-for profit Registered Training Organisation (RTO) providing a wide range of pre-accredited and accredited courses including VCAL. DVLC is a family-friendly employer that offers a range of flexible work practices that can be tailored to individual’s needs. It has a strong focus on the professional development of staff and provides learning opportunities for staff at all levels.

As a VCAL teacher your role is to assist students to re-engage in education through development and delivery of flexible, innovative and hands-on VCAL curriculum. This position contributes to the safety and wellbeing, educational, and pathways planning processes for students enrolled into the VCAL Program.

Duties & Expectations

  • Develop and deliver appropriate Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) learning and assessment materials that are enriching and engaging for students in accordance with the Victorian Curriculum And Assessment Authority (VCAA) requirements
  • Participate in external VCAL moderation activities
  • Prepare and participate in student/parent/guardian interviews at least twice annually
  • Report on student achievements each term
  • Ensure all training materials and plans have been approved in accordance with DVLC policies and procedures prior to delivery for the VCAL curriculum for each student
  • Ensure the delivery of training and assessment is appropriate and engaging for the students
  • Participate in meetings, both internal and external as required.
  • Assist each student to reach his/her personal and career goals through individual encouragement and high-quality training methods

Applicants must have the following:

  • VIT Registered
  • Tertiary qualification in education
  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or its predecessor (highly desirable)
  • Qualifications and/or experience in youth work or welfare work (highly desirable though not essential)
