An exciting opportunity is available to join Down Syndrome Victoria (DSV) as ‘Employment Connections’ Project Manager. DSV is a member of a national consortium led by Down Syndrome Australia (DSA) to deliver an employment project for people with Down syndrome.

This role is a part-time position (15 hrs per week) to June 30 2024. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience of employment for people with disability and project management. A desire to contribute to DSVs vision of a society where people with Down syndrome are valued, reach their potential and are equal in every aspect of life is a must.

Down Syndrome Victoria is the state-wide peak membership organisation representing individuals with Down syndrome and their families. Down Syndrome Victoria is a not-for-profit organisation established in 1978 to provide support, information and resources to people with Down syndrome, their families and the broader community.

We work alongside people with Down syndrome and their families to reach their potential and live the lives they choose.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The successful applicant will report directly to the DSV Programs Director. We need an enthusiastic and motivated Project Manager to lead this project, which will include:

• Deliver the Employment Connections service – build partnerships with employers, provide employer training, support employers through the recruitment process, explore options for support for the employee
• Support an Employment Ambassador to work on the project
• Collaborate and share employment resources with the consortium
• Share stories for the National Awareness campaign
• Participate in monthly meetings of the National Project Steering Group

• Contribute to the development of a service model for continued DSV Employment Connections delivery beyond this project
