About the role 

We are seeking a self-motivated and experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist who is passionate about providing a quality centre based and consultative service to our much-valued clients. You will demonstrate good initiative and problem-solving skills as well as an ability to work effectively with children, family members and internal/external service providers in order to best support and meet the child and family’s needs and priorities.

This position contributes to the success of DPV Health by operating as a Paediatric Occupational Therapist Grade 2 within the Child Health team in Mill Park.

In this role, you will:

• Be responsible for the delivery of a comprehensive centre based and consultative Occupational Therapy service to children up to 8 years of age that is co-designed with the family, to meet the needs of the child and family in a manner which respects their rights and confidentiality.

• Work in partnership and collaboration with the professionals who are supporting the child/family, to provide a timely and developmentally appropriate service and support.  This may include internal and external health professionals and other community team members (e.g. preschool, school and childcare staff).

• Assess, manage and the child’s skills in order to implement interventions that will address the child/family’s needs and priorities.

• Ensure the standards of the Occupational Therapy service provided is based on current best practice in accordance with relevant evidence-based Occupational Therapy research and the Occupational Therapy Australia - Code of Ethics.

The fine print

• Successful candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check, hold a valid WWCC, have demonstrated COVID-19 vaccinations or have a valid exemption and have NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Full driver licence and travel between sites required
• Current registration with AHPRA
• You may be asked to either provide or register for a Medicare and MBS provider number and agree to donate the total amount from this work to DPV Health.
