DPV Health are seeking Speech Pathology graduates with a range of skills, backgrounds and experiences to join our team in their first professional role. We recognise lockdowns may have impacted on your ability to finalise clinical placements, so we offer a flexible program commencement starting in late January, February, or even early March.

As a Grade 1 Speech Pathologist you will participate in three team/service rotations over the twelve-month program, including:

  • Adult Speech Pathology Team.
  • Paediatric Child Health Team.
  • Early Childhood Intervention Team.

A little about the role

At DPV Health, we provide Speech Pathology services for all ages!

You will work within a Family and Client Centred Framework to provide a comprehensive centre and home-based consultative Speech Pathology service to children and adults. 

The position is responsible for providing quality Speech Pathology intervention and expertise by working closely with the client, family, and other team members to best meet their needs and priorities. 

Our Speech Pathologists work across several teams and specialise in providing a broad range of services to our community including: 

  • Early childhood intervention supports and services for babies and young children with a disability or development delays.
  • The delivery of evidence-based interventions within a transdisciplinary and/or multidisciplinary team of allied health and education professionals.
  • Assessment and support of clients with communication and/or swallowing difficulties.
  • Supporting children, up to school entry age, who are experiencing difficulty with their speech and/or language development.
  • Creating a Speech Pathology Care Plan to help the client achieve the plans’ agreed goals.
  • Assessment and provision of high-quality reports.
  • Delivering a range of therapy programs which may consist of one or more options, including short term goal focused group therapy, individual sessions, blocks of therapy, a home program, monitoring and review. 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Be completing a tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology (Bachelor or Masters coursework) in 2021, leading to knowledge or experience in Speech Pathology assessment and intervention and developmental delays/disabilities, or have recently graduated.
  • Possess an interest in working as a Speech Pathologist within a diverse community setting.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrate early career experience in providing Speech Pathology assessment, planning, treatment, education, and management.
  • Exhibit the ability to work independently and respond to a changing work environment.
  • Demonstrate independence, initiative, and agility.
  • Demonstrate innovation and integrity in excellent service delivery.

  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check, hold a valid Working With Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • You will hold or are in the process of applying to be a practising member of Speech Pathology Australia with Certified Practising Speech Pathologist status (CPSP).   
  • COVID-19 Vaccination.
  • Full driver’s license and travel between sites is required.
  • This is an initial fixed term 12-month program with the opportunity for ongoing employment for the right candidate.
