POSITION SUMMARY

  • Conduct or participate in learning needs analysis to ensure learning and development offerings align with the needs of prescribed workforces and organisations.
  • Provide expert advice and evidence-based recommendations on implementation including workforce development and change management opportunities that align with the needs of the prescribed workforces and funded services and which result in beneficial and measurable outcomes.
  • Monitor, evaluate and analyse the effectiveness of professional development initiatives and identify opportunities for improvement.

An exciting opportunity exists for a Principal Project Officer, Information Sharing and MARAM Implementation on a Fixed term to 30 June 2023. Full time basis in Children and Families Support and Safeguarding .

The unit currently includes the Child and Family Support, and Child Safeguarding and Redress Policy teams involved in leading legislative, policy program development and service design in collaboration with stakeholders. It involves a range of program areas including Child FIRST and Family Services, early parenting, child safeguarding, child and family violence information sharing reforms and the response to the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses Child Sexual Abuse including the National Redress Scheme for people who have experienced institutional child sexual abuse in Victoria

The Principal Project Officer (PPO), Information Sharing and MARAM Implementation will play a key role in supporting the ongoing implementation of the whole of Victorian Government family violence, and child wellbeing and safety reforms, being the:

  • Child Information Sharing Scheme
  • Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme; and
  • Family Violence Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework (MARAM),

amongst prescribed Department workforces and funded services, and any future workforces and services.

This role does not require professional project management experience. Rather, the PPO will initiate and lead projects to support implementation of the reforms, with a strong emphasis on workforce development, including working with training providers and e-learning providers to develop a range of tailored training packages.

The role involves extensive liaison with lead agencies (Family Safety Victoria and the Department of Education and Training), and work across other government departments.The PPO will also work closely with DFFH program areas, and funded services, to support them in their development of implementation project plans, and communication strategies relating to the reforms. The successful candidate will be comfortable in attending forums and leading discussions, where required.

As our ideal candidate, you will be required to demonstrate

  1. Planning and organising: sets clearly defined objectives and priorities and operates accordingly, reviewing and adjusting as required; identifies processes, tasks and resources required to achieve a goal; establishes systems and procedures to guide work and track progress; recognises actual and potential barriers and finds effective ways to deal with them.
  2. Consultancy: assists clients to clarify their needs; clarifies expectations of the roles, process and outcomes; responds flexibly to client needs; develops practical solutions to complex problems; provides advice in area of expertise; liaises regularly with clients.
  3. Problem solving: seeks all relevant information for problem-solving; liaises with stakeholders; analyses issues from different perspectives and draws sound inferences from information available; identifies and proposes workable solutions to problems; implements solutions, evaluates effectiveness and adjusts actions as required.
