An exciting opportunity exists for a qualified Social Worker to join the Inner Gippsland Student Support Services (SSS) team. SSS Social Workers assess and develop strategies to address emotional and mental health needs of children, young people and their families, within an educational context. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to support students and teachers, SSS Social Workers provide comprehensive services to schools, to support student health and wellbeing. This can encompass a broad range of areas including: learning issues, behavioural issues, disabilities, mental health, school and work transitions, self-esteem, grief and loss, trauma, anger management, relationships, conflict, sexuality and drug/alcohol involvement.
Flexible working arrangements will be considered in conjunction within requirements of the role. Peer supervision and support is available within the team structure. Professional development and opportunities for growth within the role would be available for the successful applicant.
The successful applicant will possess a graduate or post-graduate qualification in Social Work which is acceptable for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and possess a current Australian Drivers’ Licence and Working with Children Check.
The Inner Gippsland SSS team is made up of Speech Pathologists, Psychologists, Social Workers Administration Support, Team Leader and Branch Manager. SSS work collaboratively with schools and an Area Health Wellbeing and Inclusion Workforce (HWIW) to support student emotional health and wellbeing.
As a member of this team, you will have access to a car to travel to various school locations (subject to availability), a laptop, an iPhone as well as access to an extensive assessment and resource library.
