As a OO3 Ranger at the Tinaroo Base, you will contribute to and work within a team of six Rangers reporting to the Ranger in Charge, who are responsible for the day-to-day delivery of Park management including: fire, pest, visitor management and stakeholder engagement. Tinaroo management unit manages various protected estates on the Atherton Tablelands including Danbulla camping areas and the Atherton forest mountain bike park. Much of the work program will involve repairs and maintenance of recreational infrastructure, roads and fences where skills and experience with hand tools, chainsaw and machinery operation are highly desirable.
Rangers form an integral part of QPWS day-to-day operations in the Tablelands, and on occasion may be required to work in other parts of the Tablelands Management Unit and elsewhere in the Northern Region. The focus of our core business is terrestrial protected areas and forest estate services, including natural and cultural resource conservation, equitable access to safe sustainable recreational opportunities, multiple use management, and nature-based business development, communication and education.
