About the role

Looking for a permanent job as a park ranger in Central Queensland?

As the second in Charge within the Nebo Work Unit, you will report directly to and support the Ranger in Charge to plan and deliver the day-to-day work program in accordance with the business plan.

You will lead and guide a small team, inspire enthusiasm, and ensure their safety and wellbeing. The responsibilities of this role are diverse. You will work alone or with others to deliver annual fire, pest, natural resource, visitor and asset management programs, and undertake plant and infrastructure maintenance tasks in protected areas and State forests.

Role requirements

• You will require experience in staff supervision, natural and cultural resource management, and need to be able to communicate with influence.
• To join our team, you will need a positive attitude, a curious nature and the ability to work and live with others.
• You must already hold, or be prepared to obtain, a manual driver's licence.
• No tertiary qualifications are required, but a Certificate in Conservation and Land Management will be highly regarded.
