The Department of Communities and Justice carries an important purpose across many areas of its work, particularly when it comes to improving outcomes for children and young people, Aboriginal people, people with disability, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people experiencing domestic and family violence, victims of sexual assault, juvenile offenders, people at high risk of reoffending, and people experiencing homelessness.

Part of the Department of Communities and Justice, Psychological & Specialist Services are responsible for delivering trauma informed, evidence based assessment and interventions for children, young people and families ensuring they have the best possible outcomes.
The role is based in our Intensive Support Services (ISS) unit. Intensive Support Services (ISS) provides effective intensive and specialist casework services to children and young people in out-of-home care who have complex care needs. Services are aimed at enhancing safety and wellbeing, placement stability and the development and implementation of plans to transition children to less intensive long term placements or prepare young people for achievable post care living options.
