About the Opportunity

Community Services is looking for a resilient Director passionate about ensuring vulnerable children, young people and their families receive sensitive and individualised assistance across our communities in Northern and South Western Sydney.

As Director, you will lead and mentor your team ensuring the smooth delivery of strategic transformation projects within budget for Community Services. 

Your role will also include:

  • Driving change and risk management 
  • Delivering operational performance activities
  • Providing high level strategic advice, forecasting and planning
  • Implementing team management, work planning and coaching initiatives
  • Supervising accountability and governance 
  • Managing financial budgets, reporting, and resourcing

What’s in it for me?

  • Lead a team of 5 to 8 direct reports
  • Manage budgets up to $ 28 million
  • $221,106 to $244,160 -TRP (inclusive of super) 
  • Full-time, permanent employment

What do I need to apply? 

  • Up-to-date resume and a cover letter outlining your interest in the role 
  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry or professional experience
  • Be an innovative outcome focused leader 
  • Have effective negotiating and influencing skills
  • Have networks with Government agencies, Not-For-Profit organisations, and community providers
  • Pass pre-employment checks that include:
    • Working with children check
    • National criminal history record check
    • Reference checks

A division of the Department of Communities and Justice, Community Services works in partnership with government, non-government and community agencies to improve the lives of children, adults, families and communities who often experience disadvantage and live in varied and challenging circumstances.
