About the Role

This role is an opportunity to work with our specialist Deaf & Hard of Hearing Disability Employment Service (DES) Team in Queensland as an Employment Consultant. Reporting to the Site Manager, your role will be to assess the support needs of DES Participants, identify barriers to employment, providing a tailored approach through regular contact and engagement to assist DES Participants to achieve sustainable employment while ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.

Past experience in DES is not necessary but would be an advantage alongside having an awareness and knowledge of broad range of industries. We are looking for people who have a minimum Certificate III Auslan proficiency. The position is full time with an immediate start.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Demonstrated experience and skills in delivering DES and/or employment services to people with barriers to employment or service-based industries (desired);
• Ability to develop and foster effective working relationships with program participants and a range of community employers, businesses and external stakeholders
• Proven ability working to targets and KPI’s
• High level communication skills, both oral and written
• A team player with a commitment to collaboration
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise workload
• Flexible and adaptable
• Tertiary qualifications in Community Services, Welfare studies or related fields (desirable)
