Exciting opportunity to work with young people in an innovative outreach mental health service!
Deception Bay Community Youth Programs (DBCYP) is seeking a Functional Recovery Manager to be part of the Asha Youth Mental Health Outreach Service and work with an existing team of passionate and committed mental health professionals. The Asha Youth Mental Health Outreach Service is a partnership between DBCYP, Redcliffe Youth Space and Intercept Youth and Family Services that began in April 2017. Applicants must demonstrate a willingness to proactively engage disengaged young people with a severe mental illness or young people who may be at risk of a severe mental illness. The roles will require some work out of business hours, home visits and a strong focus on and understanding of psychosocial support and community participation outcomes. Asha actively partners clinical workers with Family and Youth Workers to ensure a holistic service for young people and their families.
DBCYP is a community based organisation that has been operating for 25 years and provides a range of community support programs and services for young people, children and families in Deception Bay and surrounding communities.
This position is part of a team that delivers an outreach based, clinical mental health program for young people aged 12 -18 years in the Morton Bay area. The position is specifically designed to engage, connect and work alongside young people who experience, or at risk of, severe mental illness. The position will work closely with other FRMs and Clinicians in the Asha team and DBCYP staff delivering services to young people. The program design prioritises youth engagement and relationship building as the means of achieving clinical outcomes. As such, a flexible approach to service delivery will be expected. Workers will be expected to undertake home visits and/or sessions in other places in the community such as schools, cafes or parks. The role has a strong focus on social inclusion/community participation outcomes to maintain recovery and prevent relapse, whist linking young people with clinicians in the Asha team. Ensuring high levels of wrap around support will form a significant component of this role. This will include working with families and carers and liaising closely with a number of internal and external stakeholders. Family and Youth workers will be expected to coordinate and lead care coordination/case conferencing meetings.
The positions is offered at full-time 35 hours per week @ SACS Level 4 (Fisher and 316 Regulation Rate).
