The Organisation:

Founded in 1967, Cure Cancer Australia is a National independent, not-for-profit organisation that has funded Australia’s brightest early-career researchers across all areas of cancer research. We estimate that in the last ten years, every dollar we have invested in research grants has resulted in an additional $45 of funding for our researchers. The organisation is now over 50 years old and we’re proud that many of the rising stars funded are now at the forefront of medical research internationally.

The Role:

The Fundraising & Event Coordinator role is ideal for a dynamic self-starter. Someone that can roll up their sleeves up and just get stuck in! We’re looking for an individual that can work with a team, manage multiple stakeholder relationships, all whilst providing an excellent customer experience. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent end-to-end customer service and execute next best practice donor care strategies across the customer lifecycle, donor care programs and recognition programs for BARBECURE, Fitness Events, General Fundraising Events and World’s Best BYO
  • Strengthen relationship management strategies
  • Support partnerships, proposals, presentations and fundraising initiatives
  • In collaboration with the Fundraising and Marketing team successfully execute logistics for individual and community fundraising campaigns and events
  • In collaboration with the Fundraising team assist with execution of the fundraising campaigns
  • Manage and coordinate volunteers across events, campaigns and community activities
  • In collaboration with the Fundraising and Marketing team develop and execute the multi-channel fundraising communications strategy including copy and story development
  • Management of fundraising merchandise and collateral
  • Follow legislation, compliance, internal procedures, policies and due diligence processes

Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate, be persuasive, develop trust and maintain effective working relationships
  • Exceptional written skills and the ability to engage supports, donor’s and community fundraisers
  • Demonstrated ability to work to deadlines and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a proven eye for detail
  • Capacity for creative, innovative and dynamic thinking
  • Capacity to work under pressure and to tight timelines and with adaptability when required to achieve the optimum business outcome
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends events; and able to travel interstate when required

The ideal candidate attributes:

  • 2-5 years’ experience in similar fundraising roles
  • Knowledge of online fundraising technology, operational processes portals and systems, including third party fundraising donation platforms (Grassrootz, Everyday Hero, Go Fundraise or similar)
  • Experience using Salesforce (or similar) CRM; Pardot marketing automation (or similar email platform); Squarespace (or equivalent) CMS; and social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn)
  • Experience working with community groups and individuals to support fundraising goals
