About the role:

You can expect to undertake various duties including but not limited to, Personal Care (full training and buddy shifts provided), Manual Handling, Social Support, Transport, Meal Preparation, Domestic Assistance in Home and Record Keeping.

Applicants need to be aware that these positions involve shift work and may involve multiple shifts of varying durations throughout the day/night and including sleepover shifts - attractive penalty rates included! Casual positions may lead to Part Time depending on availability and ongoing reliability.

Mandatory requirements for this position:

• Work entitlements in Australia
• Located in or around the Cairns / Mareeba / Innisfail / Cassowary Coast Areas
• Must be over the age of 18 (at the time of training) due to Compliance Requirements
• A current Drivers License P1 Provisional or above, acceptable under Queensland Legislation
• Applicants are required to either hold a current First Aid Certificate including CPR or be willing to obtain one - Provided by Cootharinga
• Support Workers are required to undergo an NDIS Worker Screening Clearance and Working with Children Check (Blue Card) - Cost Covered by Cootharinga
• Applicants are required to undergo and pass Drug and Alcohol testing and a Pre-employment Functional Assessment - Cost Covered by Cootharinga
• It is a condition of employment that you have a smart phone or a device with Wi-Fi access for work purposes.
