The Coota District Co-op Ltd

The Coota District Co-op Ltd is a proud, community owned and controlled business located in Cootamundra, NSW. As a co-operative department store, it will ensure that the community of Cootamundra and surrounds can access a selected range of essential, affordable, quality goods, predominantly clothing, locally.

The Coota District Co-op retail store will open in mid-2023. The position of retail manager will be integral to the success of the business.

The core duties of the role will include but are not limited to:

• Instilling a culture of customer service
• Staff management, rostering and training
• Using point of sale software
• Management and ordering of stock
• Payment of supplier invoices
• Management of workplace OH&S
• Daily banking and reconciliation reports

The person we’re seeking will have:

• An understanding of the co-operative business model.
• Proven skills in managing a small team of people including performance management, problem-solving, negotiation and conflict resolution.
• Experience in all aspects of modern retail operations including ordering, inventory control, sales and managing staff.
• A willingness to work with the Board of Directors to shape the way ahead, determine the budget and the key performance indicators.
• A positive attitude and initiative.
• The ability to shape a positive shopping experience that meets our members’ and shoppers’ needs and keeps them returning to The Coota District Co-op.

Desirable but not essential are relevant qualifications in business or retail management.

Applicants must have an Australian Driver’s License.

Remuneration and hours will be negotiated. Remuneration will be above the Award.
