About the role

Home to more than 150 artists, writers, creatives, makers and wellbeing practitioners, and offering more than 1,000 events each year, the Abbotsford Convent is Australia’s largest multi-arts precinct.

We’re seeking a creative thinker with an innovative approach to the full gamut of marketing and communications. The Marketing and Communications Manager will oversee the development, execution and management of marketing and communications campaigns, including ticket sales campaigns, digital marketing, design, corporate communications, media and PR, publications and social media.

Key responsibilities of this role include: brand management and development; issues management; developing engaging content and marketing/ticket sales strategies to promote the Convent’s year-round programs and events; and managing communications across a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.

A strategic thinker, you will also enjoy working in a hands-on role, driving the delivery of the team’s operational plan which supports the organisation’s new strategic vision and direction.

This is an exciting time to join the Convent, with a growing suite of key arts and cultural programs and industry partnerships, meaning more programs to market, more tickets to sell and more ways to grow audiences and visitation via marketing and communications campaigns and initiatives.

Qualifications, skills & experience

  • Tertiary degree in marketing or communications
  • Minimum of five years’ experience with a proven track record of delivering successful marketing and communications strategies with limited budgets
  • Experience delivering, evaluating and reporting on social media content, with strong skills in using analytics tools, such as google analytics
  • Highly developed knowledge of CRM and email marketing programs
  • Experience managing website content management systems
  • A strong curatorial eye to create a visually compelling brand
  • Team and project leadership experience

This is a full-time permanent position. A six month probation period applies.
