Why Consent Labs?

Consent education is fast becoming one of the most important and highly talked about areas of education reform in Australia, and for good reason.

Consent Labs are leaders in this sector. Established in 2016, our team has already worked with over 60,000 high school students, tertiary students, parents and educators nationally to deliver more realistic, relevant and most importantly, evidence-based education. Our sessions are developed for young people, by young people.

We’re also advocates and thought leaders within the space. You may have caught Consent Labs on programs like Studio 10, The Project, ABC 7:30, SBS, Triple J Hack to name a few.

As an organisation we look for passionate people who are eager to get stuck in and make it happen. In turn, we promise you an inclusive workplace championing diversity and flexible working practices. You can expect support and collaboration, plus the benefits of a team that genuinely loves the work.

So, if you are seeking a job that offers the opportunity to create meaningful change for future generations, challenges you, and fills your cup all at the same time, then we want you here!

What does the role actually entail?

Recruitment:

  • Lead the recruitment of VIC workshop facilitators, in line with our national frameworks. We are intentional with our recruitment, looking for passionate, engaging and diverse young people who will ultimately be the face of Consent Labs in schools and universities.

Team Management:

  • Manage the onboarding and ongoing training of the VIC facilitation team, in line with our national frameworks, to ensure facilitators are well prepared for program delivery. The team will initially start small (4-6 facilitators) but has scope to increase over time.
  • Work with the Head of People and Programs to develop state-specific training that is tailored and responsive to what facilitators need.
  • Monitor the performance of the facilitation team, ensuring programs are delivered to a high- standard and are hitting efficacy and engagement targets. If these are not being achieved, this job will involve performance management of facilitators.
  • Monitor and support the wellbeing of VIC workshop facilitators.

Reporting:

  • Growth is intentional. Report and manage growth targets, specifically retention targets.

Facilitation:

  • Facilitate programs alongside the VIC facilitation team. You yourself will be in the classroom presenting our content to young people, parents and educators as you build and up-skill the casual team around you.

What are we looking for?

  • Strong alignment to Consent Labs mission, values and a passion for social change.
  • Initiative and ability to work independently. You will be one of the first employees in the Victoria office and will have the opportunity to build this team from scratch! With this level of responsibility, we are looking for someone who isn’t afraid to work autonomously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong, trust-based relationships and to recruit and manage a high-performance, values-based team of casual employees.
  • Genuine respect for diversity, and the ability to recruit for and foster a culture that is respectful of diverse team members.
  • A growth-mindset, demonstrating you are able to overcome or problem-solve challenges and are open to continuous learning.
  • Confident and engaging facilitation skills.
  • Ability to take ongoing responsibility for your mental health before and after facilitating, with the support of Consent Labs.
