Trainer / Assessor - Certificate in General Education for Adults

This is an exciting opportunity, and we are looking for a passionate Trainer and Assessor to deliver training and assessing to Equity (Youth at Risk) students (aged between 15-24) under the Jobs and Skills program. The successful candidate must be able to work autonomously and be trusted to prepare, deliver, and assess all aspects of the qualification delivered through out each 10-week program. The program will also include the integration of excursions and incursions to compliment and create pathways for students.

Building relationships with referring agencies to achieve maximum enrolments along with engagement and completion of the students is a key aspect of this role and ensuring the program is successful. Delivering a quality product which achieves exceptional training outcomes for students and key stakeholders is important in creating futures for our students.

The position is based in Rockingham or Midland with some travel required when required to visit our RTO office in Cannington. The role is full-time, fixed term contract.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver quality training and assessment in the following qualifications:
    • 22472VIC Cert I in general education for adults
    • 22473VIC Cert II in general education for adults
    • 22474VIC Cert III in general education for adults
  • Drive and manage student induction/enrolment for allocated group/site
  • Liaise and develop relationships with referring agents to ensure continued referrals and student support
  • Prepare, deliver, mark, and assess all aspects of training and unit delivery
  • Support and provide appropriate feedback to students to ensure they can complete and achieve all assessment requirements to successfully achieve their qualification within the timeframe
  • Provide and refer students to other support services as required
  • Complete all administration tasks related to the program’s delivery
  • Monitor and document students’ attendance and course progress
  • Ensure all participants feel welcome, comfortable, and part of the class
  • Participation in moderation and validation processes
  • Work in collaboration with the training team assisting in the review, update, and maintenance of the general education for adult’s course materials and curriculum in consultation with other trainers and assessors

Selection Criteria

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or Equivalent)
  • Certificate III in General Education for Adults (22474VIC or Equivalent - Proven experience as a Trainer and Assessor in Foundation Skills Training (CGEA, FSK, Leadership), Degree in Education.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, without direct supervision
  • Working with Children Check
  • National Police Clearance (not older than 6 months from the issue date)
  • Unrestricted drivers’ licence
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (three doses where eligible)
