Creative public innovator (35 hours weekly) needed to Co-ordinate service delivery and engagement with our community at our busy Centre. Oversee and initiate programmes, projects, staff, partnerships and operations of Coffs Harbour Neighbourhood Centre (CHNC) in accordance with community needs, Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) funding guidelines, established policies, procedures and legislation. Implement programmes to meet the needs of people who comprise DCJ priority areas including children 0-3 years, young parents and Aboriginal families, youth and communities.
Advance Coffs Harbour Neighbourhood Centre as a centre of excellence and a safe place for all community members and visitors. Ensure Coffs Harbour Neighbourhood Centre and its operations are transparent, accountable, accessible and ethical and embody a strong sense of social justice.
Volunteers, project staff, students.The Co-ordinator is responsible for support and supervision of all staff (including volunteers) and students associated with the Neighbourhood Centre projects. The Co-ordinator will provide leadership and direction within this staff team in collaboration with the Manager. The Co-ordinator will develop the Centre's community development and strengthening activities in collaborative engagement with staff and Manager.
The Co-ordinator is employed by Volunteering Coffs Harbour Inc (VCH Inc) and reports and accounts directly to the Neighbourhood Centre Manager.
Required:
Desirable - experience in:
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant study area e.g. social welfare, health, social work, community development, community management, education, adult and community education, social ecology or other qualifications in social, behavioural or political sciences, are highly desirable. Relevant professional experience in community work and program management will be considered.
