Behaviour Support Practitioner

Code Black Psychology

Are you a Behaviour Support Practitioner looking for challenging, complex work?

Code Black Psychology is a well-established provider of clinical and forensic psychological services. We take an interdisciplinary approach to specialist assessments and care team support services in highly complex cases of interpersonal violence, with a team qualified in psychology, social work, and law. Our behaviour support team utilises behavioural science to create positive behavioural change in situations where participants are typically subject to various legal orders, such as compulsory treatment orders, that would benefit from a deliberate focus on the will and preference of the participant as the change mechanism.

We seek behaviour support practitioners who are endorsed within the NDIS PBS Capability Framework. Practitioners will be undertaking behavioural assessments and functional behavioural analyses for complex clients where there are multiple behaviours of concern, psychosocial disability arising from severe mental illness, extreme functional impairment, and very high support needs.

Your duties will include:

  • Undertaking behavioural assessments and functional behavioural analyses
  • Developing behaviour support plans that are evidence-based and person-centred, where the will and preference of the participant defines the aims of behavioural change
  • Providing training and reflective practice to care teams/outreach support services of complex clients after a behaviour support plan is developed.

See the attached position description for more information.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • You are endorsed as a behaviour support practitioner within the NDIS Capability Framework
  • Ideally, you have experience within the criminal justice sector and in forensic behavioural science
  • You have significant demonstrable experience in a relevant field: applicants registered with a relevant regulatory or professional agency, such as AHPRA or AASW, are strongly encouraged to apply;
  • Experience and demonstrable strength in report writing is an inherent requirement of all positions at Code Black Psychology.

SUPPORT FOR YOU

You will be part of a team with a focus on collaboration in case discussions, peer supervision, creative problem solving and support for each other in challenging work.

Code Black is an equal opportunity employer: we encourage flexibility for our team members balancing life’s demands, with time and support to undertake ongoing professional development through an engaging career. We offer a balance of working from home and from our office in the Malvern area.

An attractive salary package will be offered to the right candidate depending upon qualifications and experience, plus super and leave entitlements.
