Business Clean Up Day is an initiative to encourage businesses to be involved in Clean Up Australia Day in one of three ways:
- Registering a business clean up location [site] external to the organisation’s premises
- Registering a clean up of the business’ premises
- Becoming a Business Supporter
Primary Purpose
To develop and deliver specifically tailored Clean Up Australia Day activities to the business sector.
This sector is traditionally small – medium business or branches of larger organisations, however there are also instances where a larger organisation will choose to become a Business Supporter to encourage their branches/networks to participate under a corporate banner.
Reporting Relationship
This position reports to the Managing Director.
Key Accountabilities
- Review Business offerings – researching, recommending and implementing elements that will add value for participants
- Renew 12/15 of the 2017 Business Supporters
- Leverage the national Business Day to identify and recruit the support and participation of at least three new Business Supporters; ensuring that CUA fulfils its obligations within these partnerships
- Identify and recruit the support and participation of Business Allies [non-financial networking partners]; ensuring that CUA fulfils its obligations within these partnerships
- Be the first point of contact for BCUD supervisors around the country, encouraging increased participation [target of 10% increase] and providing support and advice to all participants
- Maintain excellent communication between all participating businesses and CUA, ensuring that the expectations of participants are met to encourage repeat participation
- Scope, develop and deliver any incentive programs that will increase participation
- Identify publicity opportunities to feed into national and state-wide media campaigns and communicate these to the publicist
- Create and deliver social marketing opportunities in association with BCUD utilising Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Linked-In
- Create and dispatch newsletter for BCUD participants
- Prepare and deliver BCUD presentations to external stakeholders and partners
- Recruit, train and manage office volunteers to assist with BCUD delivery
- Ensure BCUD website information is kept relevant and up to date
- Attend external events and meetings to promote BCUD to the wider community
- Provide information for the Operations Officer to assist them to support BCUD site supervisors, councils and waste management organisations regarding the timely removal of all rubbish from BCUD sites and explore opportunities for recycling rubbish removed during BCUD
- Complete and present a full report on outcomes of BCUD
