About the Role

ArtsReady currently has an exciting position to assist the Community Development team with the planning and running of events, programs and training.

The successful applicant will be legally employed by ArtsReady, but will work on-site with City of Cockburn and receive an accredited Business qualification (on successful completion). 

Reporting to the Community Development Coordinator, the purpose of this role will be to support the team through Administrative support as directed. Assist the Community Development Team on projects.

Days/Hours: 2 days per week, days and hours negotiable. Weekend/Evening work may be required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the Community Development Coordinator with administrative support as directed.
  • Assist the Community Development Team on a number of specific projects.
  • Create a monthly e-newsletter and maintain the Cockburn Community Groups Facebook page.
  • Research trends and projects in Community Development.
  • All general office duties including securing quotes, stationery orders, using the finance system and spreadsheets.
  • Liaise with and engage the community at events and consultations.
  • Review and update content on the City’s website and intranet.
  • Prepare agendas and minutes for CCDG meetings.
  • Demonstrates behaviour that is consistent with the City of Cockburn values.

Selection Criteria

Essential

  • Must be an Indigenous Australian.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and to balance competing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and to demanding time schedules.
  • Computer literate.
  • Professional telephone manner.
  • Able to cope with and be flexible with fast changing environment and last minute requests.
  • Able to undertake a medical test- (Drug/ Alcohol)
  • Able to provide a current Police Clearance

Preferred

  • Valid Health Care Card

Salary

The successful candidate will receive:

  • National Training Wage Award ($13.67 - $24.97 per hour dependant on age) + 9.5% Superannuation
  • Fully funded qualification
