Centipede @ Glebe School is a not for profit Outside School Hours Care service located in Glebe Public School.

We are currently looking for an Assistant Coordinator to join our team. This position is ideal for someone experienced and aspiring to a key leadership role. The Assistant Coordinator will actively assist with broad service management, including supporting and leading a team of educators, contributing to quality programming and act as an Authorised Supervisor in the absence of the Coordinator.

Combination of split shifts and block shifts as our service is operational 7.30am-9.30am & 1.30pm-6pm + additional non-contact hours for administration during term time, and 8am-5pm during school holidays. The position is permanent part time, approx. 30 hrs per week (negotiable).

Centipede is a child centred, community focused child care service that caters for a diverse group of children in a vibrant local community. We are open to children and families regardless of their circumstances and our service reflects the diversity of the community, with a high number of Aboriginal and Torres Strat Islander children, at risk children and children from a variety of different cultural backgrounds and life experiences attending our service.

Key Requirements

• Minimum 2 years working in an OOSH role
• Working knowledge of My Time Our Place, the National Quality Framework and the National Standards.
• The ability to work as part of a team
• Current Working with Children Check

Desirable

• Diploma in Children’s Services or equivalent
• Accredited Child Protection Training 
• Current first aid, asthma & anaphylaxis certificate
• Food Supervisor Certificate
• Proficiency in the use of Child Care Management Software (QikKids or similar)
