About the role

The Aged Care Chaplain provides meaningful pastoral care services, encouraging residents towards their spiritual, emotional, psychological and social wellbeing according to their age and health status. Carinity's Chaplains participate in a multi-disciplinary healthcare team that aims to meet the needs of residents in an effective and holistic manner.

The role is based at Carinity Carinity Aged Care – Hilltop, this facility is located on a beautiful 2 ½ acre block overlooking the city and Victoria Park, offering both quiet and convenience. Hilltop accommodates beds for high, low and interim care, providing quality care to each and every resident.

What do I need?

• Commitment to work within the Christian ethos and framework of Carinity.
• Demonstrated passion for community service to the elderly
• Demonstrated empathy and experience in Pastoral Care and/or Pastoral Counselling.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary healthcare team, offering support/assistance where required.
• Highly effective interpersonal skills for pastoral care and communication in multi-faith and multi-disciplinary settings.

Desirable:

• Knowledge of dementia and other conditions common in the elderly
