About the role
We’re seeking a community engagement professional to provide engagement expertise to internal teams and plan and guide engagement projects for our community.
Create and implement innovative, coordinated engagement plans to communicate, consult and engage with stakeholders and meet legislative and policy obligations.
Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide community engagement expertise to project officers
- Create and implement engagement plans
- Maintain and update toolkits, and guidelines and templates
- Support our Team Leader Engagement
- Occasional facilitation of community engagement activities
You will provide advice, develop plans, and support the implementation of engagement and consultation to encourage and maximize community participation. You will have demonstrated experience in developing engagement plans, consulting and working with a range of teams, and conducting research and collating data.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of Council officers from various professional disciplines and representatives of various government and community agencies.
- Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate field, such as community engagement, social sciences, community development, communications, or public relations
- IAP2 certification highly regarded
- Relevant experience in local government preferred
- Ability to provide specialist engagement advice
- Initiative, a ‘can do’ approach to producing outcomes and the ability to manage competing work priorities and projects within strict timeframes.
- Ability to work in and contribute to a positive small team environment.
