The Carbon Market Institute (CMI) is an independent member-based business institute that promotes the use of market-based solutions and supports best practice in decarbonisation to limit warming to 1.5ºC. CMI’s membership comprises 150+ businesses and organisations across all sectors of the economy and carbon supply chain in Australia and the Asia- Pacific region. Our focus is to:

CMI is seeking to employ a Digital Marketing Coordinator, to join a passionate and dedicated team working with businesses in Australia and across the Asia-Pacific region to accelerate climate action towards CMI’s vision of a prosperous negative emissions, nature positive world.
Role Details
This role provides a unique opportunity to work across the breadth of CMI’s activity, as well as that of its growing and diverse membership.
The Digital Marketing Coordinator will work with the Director Communications and other events and membership team members to develop and post content on the CMI website, Members Portal, e-newsletters and social media channels, as well as promoting CMI events.
The role involves regular reporting and engaging with CMI’s membership base, as well as the opportunity to participate in CMI Taskforces - particularly the Communications Taskforce - as needed.
It will suit a candidate with a minimum of 2 years professional experience.
The salary range is between $60-65k plus superannuation, depending on experience.
This is a full-time, permanent role based in Sydney or Melbourne (some WFH arrangements negotiable), reporting to the CMI Director Communications.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of CMI’s Communications and Digital Communications strategies to help deliver CMI’s vision, mission and objectives
- Create and edit engaging content for the website, digital channels including LinkedIn and X, as well as regular eDMs and e-newsletters to members and supporters
- Develop design assets (e.g. social tiles, fact sheets), and edit video content
- Support the management of CMI’s website, including the Members Portal and Project Registry and other digital platforms
- Promote CMI’s events and liaise with members, partners and sponsors
- Monitor Google Analytics and provide weekly/monthly reports on web traffic and statistics
- Identify trends and patterns of user behaviour, with recommendations for improvements in web design and content
- Monitor search engine activities, page ranking, advising on search engine optimisation and implementing approved changes
- Assist in managing paid Google Search and LinkedIn campaigns, constantly reviewing to improve effectiveness, and reporting monthly
- Support CMI taskforces and working groups, where required
- Provide communications support in the delivery of key CMI projects, including events, government grants and research pieces
- Participating in and promoting a learning, team-based culture.
Selection Criteria
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in all MS Office Programs
- Working knowledge of Google Analytics and online advertising (LinkedIn, Google Ads)
- Working knowledge of WordPress, Canva, Mailchimp, Hootsuite or similar applications
- A passion for storytelling, strong organisational skills and the ability to show initiative
- Desired, but not essential: basic Adobe Suite knowledge (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premier Pro).
Knowledge and Experience
- A relevant tertiary or equivalent qualification in Marketing, Communications or related discipline
- Minimum 2 years’ professional experience
- Previous experience in Marketing, PR or Corporate Communications.
