NDIS Support Coordinator

Candella

About Candella

Candella is rapidly growing service provider in the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), specialising in mental health and psychosocial wellbeing services. Having launched in October 2018, we have grown to 40 employees providing services to over 200 people throughout Melbourne and the Yarra Valley.

We recently expanded our service offering to include NDIS Support Coordination. We are seeking skilled and experienced NDIS Support Coordinators who can "hit the ground running" to help us grow this part of the organisation as rapidly as possible.

Candella Ltd (ACN 632 455 782) was recently approved by the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) to operate as a not-for-profit organisation in Australia. We are currently undergoing a transition to this new structure. As a not-for-profit, Candella Ltd will be able to offer all employees attractive salary packaging from September 2019 onwards.

About the position

We are seeking people who already know the ins-and-outs of NDIS Support Coordination through prior experience.

As one of our first Support Coordinators, you will bring your expertise and experience to help us shape and grow this new part of our organsation.

What we offer you:

  • $51.66 per hour (casual rate), plus 9.5% super. We are willing to pay a premium rate to attract the best people to Candella. You will be paid for your billable NDIS hours--no more, no less.
  • All the legal and industrial protections that come with being an employee, rather than a subcontractor. No need to get an ABN, no need to get your own insurance. We have you covered.
  • The freedom to choose when you want to work and where you want to work. From from home? The cafe down the road? The local library? Sure thing. Two hours today, three hours tomorrow? No problem, it's up to you.
  • Gradual increases in your workload as we send you more referrals (up to a limit set by you).
  • Mobile phone.
  • The systems, tools, and processes you need to complete the job.
  • Over-the-phone support from supervisors with 5+ years experience in mental health services and 2+ years in NDIS.
  • Virtual, cloud-based office. Opportunities to connect, communicate, and problem-solve with colleagues through our mobile communication tools.

What we expect from you:

  • Highly developed skills as an NDIS Support Coordinator.
  • Sound understanding of mental health issues and psychosocial disability.
  • Not essential, but highly regarded: tertiary qualifications in social work, occupational therapy, psychology, or a related discipline.
  • Exceptionally high level of integrity, transparency, accountability, and professionalism, especially in relation to the hours that you claim.
  • Track-record of remaining calm, maintaining a positive outlook, and maintaining constructive relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Track record of completing administrative duties, including documentation, to a high standard.
  • Ability to work casually, manage your own working hours, and build up your workload over time.
  • Willingness to occasionally provide feedback and advice regarding Candella's Support Coordination systems, tools, and processes, to help drive continuous improvement within the organisation.
  • Willingness to occasionally contribute to online discussions with colleagues to help resolve Support Coordination practice issues.
  • Insured, roadworthy vehicle and Australian driver's licence.
  • Your own computer/laptop that is suitable for use at work (all customer information must be remain secure and confidential at all times).

You will also be required to undergo the usual police checks and a Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme Check prior to commencing employment.
