As the Palliative and Supportive Care Education Manager you will be responsible for the effective development and implementation of palliative and supportive care education (PaSCE) services provided to health professionals state-wide and a high level of strategic input into divisional objectives.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Providing professional leadership and direction in accordance with CCWA’s vision, purpose, values and strategic objectives.
• Providing leadership to the PaSCE team and the CISS Division.
• Leading and overseeing the PaSCE team’s functions, resources and outputs, including business and financial management in accordance with contractual specifications and Cancer Council WA Strategic Plan.
• Representing Cancer Council WA to government agencies, funding agencies, state and national organisations and service providers in the area of palliative care education.
• Maintain a workforce plan for the PaSCE team and ensure staffing requirements and performance objectives are achieved, through recruitment, onboarding, training and development, and performance management.
• Maintain and develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Who are you?

To be successful in this role you will have the following key attributes:

• A tertiary qualification in management, health management or health related field with managerial experience in an educator position
• An understanding of palliative care
• Current experience and demonstrated success in operational management
• Highly developed computer skills including experience with databases, Microsoft office suite and email communications
• Experience in the application of Learning Management Systems is desirable
• Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders

• Strong leadership capability, evidenced in well-developed problem solving, analytical and conceptual skills
• Demonstrated ability in contract management and reporting and budget management
• Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the values of Cancer Council WA
• Positive approach to the workplace.

In line with Cancer Council WA policy, WA Government Health Directions and Public Health Orders, Cancer Council WA staff are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. As such, the successful candidate will be requested to provide evidence of their COVID-19 vaccination status prior to commencing in this role.
