Accounts Officer

We are seeking an Accounts Officer all-rounder to join our purpose-driven team.

The Accounts Officer reports to the Management Accountant and is an essential part of the finance team, carrying out the day-to-day processing of financial transactions for the organisation. The role is responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash and banking, together with working on other finance projects and initiatives from time to time.

Key to the success of the role will be the accurate recording and maintenance of the AR and AP sub-ledgers, effective communication with external customers and stakeholders, and supporting the finance team and staff more broadly across the organisation.

  • Location: Hybrid role – Victorian based – Ballarat/Melbourne preferred
  • Department/Team: Finance
  • Hours Per Week: 30.4, flexible
  • Annual Salary: $52-56,000 p.a. (0.8 of $65-70,000 p.a.)

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • 3-5+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong IT and accounting systems skills
  • Proven ability to organise work, meet deadlines and show initiative
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and think creatively when tackling a problem
  • Demonstrated integrity, honesty, and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
