You will have comprehensive training throughout your orientation, with ongoing learning and development. This includes:

  • Specialist training opportunities
  • Buddy shifts with CPA's experienced Disability Support Workers
  • Opportunity to complete a nationally recognised qualification such as Certificate III in Individual Support and/or a Certificate IV in Disability.
  • We invest $5,000 in training in your first year

We currently have some exciting permanent positions within a newly created team at our recently refurbished Respite Home (Short Term Accommodation) in Forestville. These roles would be suitable for enthusiastic and proactive workers who are passionate about working with children. Coverage is required over the weekends - availability across all shifts on Friday, Saturday and Sunday is essential.

Your duties will include:

  • Delivering personalised support in a respite setting
  • Providing support by assisting clients at meal times, with personal care and administering medication
  • Socialising and building happy and positive ongoing relationships with our clients and their families
  • Encouraging clients to get involved in activities including initiating and encouraging fun and inclusive opportunities for play and development
  • Assisting with domestic duties such as cleaning and tidying where required
  • Supporting clients to engage and participate in their community including companionship on excursions
  • Using CPA minivan to transport clients if applicable

Requirements:

  • Experience in disability or childcare preferred but not required
  • A current NSW Driver's Licence (P2 minimum)
  • Live locally to the locations mentioned above
  • Triple COVID-19 vaccinated
