Do you want to help people in your community? This caseworker role is a great opportunity to support people who come from culturally diverse backgrounds and need assistance to achieve their goals.

• You will deliver the Skills First Reconnect Program in the City of Yarra and City of Melbourne. This program aims to improve the target cohort’s overall wellbeing outcomes by supporting their re-engagement with other services, programs, education, training and employment.
• Clients are long term unemployed and disengaged from education and training due to complex barriers to participation. Many live in public housing and come from culturally diverse backgrounds.
• Recruit and undertake initial assessments of clients’ existing levels of educational attainment and education and training needs.
• Refer clients for further external support and assist them to access and engage with these services.
• Maintain accurate, comprehensive and confidential records and reports, ensuring that the Client Database is up to date.
• Attend appointments and follow up with select CNLC students and Open Door clients, primarily English as Additional language students, to assist them with immediate individual support with, for example, form filling, accessing support services, and Citizenship applications
• Work in partnership with Carringbush Adult Education and benefit from their experience with the Reconnect program and support.

You will be based across two of Carlton Neighbourhood Learning Centre’s sites in North Carlton and Carlton housing estate Open Door hub. We are looking for someone who is professional yet caring. You will have qualifications or equivalent experience relating to Social Work, Counselling, or Casework. This is a 3.5 days a week position $72, 125 + 10.5% superannuation pro rata.
