The Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) is a not-for-profit organisation based in Victoria, providing specialist knowledge and support to young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds. Our vision is that young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds are connected, empowered and influential Australians.
About the Role
The Le Mana Youth Worker will work directly with Pasifika young people, their families and the wider community to ensure young people are connected and engaged with their families around education, employment, career pathways and young people involved in youth justice. This position will support young people through a range of initiatives through individual and group work activities including online service delivery, in-school programs and use of social media.
Under Special Measures of the Equal Opportunity Act, this position is specifically for someone from the Pasifika community.
- Hours: 30.4 hours per week (0.8 FTE), Part Time
- Fixed Term: until June 30, 2023
- Base Salary (SCHADS 5) : $88,761 per annum (pro rata ) plus Super and access to Salary Packaging
- Location: Sunshine Office
- Interviews: to be held in the week beginning 26th September 2022
You will have
- Demonstrated experience in delivering programs to Pasifika young people in social, recreational, school and community settings and an understanding of positive group facilitation and training practices
- Demonstrated understanding of the needs of Pasifika young people and their families and communities, with an ability to identify issues of concern using a holistic approach
- Experience in delivering programs in partnership with other organisations and an ability to collaborate with a diverse range of people and communities
- Well-developed organisational, planning and administration skills, with the ability to write reports and present the information in various meetings and forums.
