The CFMEU is a large national blue-collar union enthusiastically campaigning for a better life for Australian workers, their families and communities and proudly fighting for decent and safe jobs for CFMEU members. The Manufacturing Division includes workers in forestry, wood-processing, timber & building products, construction activity such as glazing and floor-laying, and manufacturing activity such as furniture-making, glass production, pulp & paper, soft furnishings, textiles, clothing and footwear. 

The CFMEU Manufacturing Division is looking for an experienced National Industrial Officer to provide industrial advice and advocacy, support negotiations, disputes and campaigns, prepare and present legal cases and submissions, and other industrial/legal work.

This is a great opportunity to use and expand your legal & industrial skills and experience by working directly at the industrial coal-face in one of the big blue collar unions.

The successful applicant will have relevant qualifications and experience in labour law and industrial relations, advocacy within the Fair Work Commission and other courts and tribunals, strong communication skills, and the ability to prioritise and set and meet time-lines under pressure; flexibility is key. 

Salary range is $85,000 to $120,000 p.a. plus 15% superannuation, 5 weeks annual leave and 13 RDOs (package negotiable depending on experience & relevance of existing skills).
