An experienced group worker is required to run a fortnightly group for men. To increase wellbeing and community connections by actively and positively engage men through programs and activities.
The program is aimed at all men particularly those who are who are socially isolated and who wish to connect with their community.
The role includes:
- Promotion
- Planning and programming
- Monitoring, reporting and evaluation
- Writing up the evaluation report
The Essential Criteria for this position are:
- Degree/Diploma in Community Services or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience facilitation of groups
- Demonstrated experience in capacity building and the provision of community development programs;
- Demonstrated knowledge of issues affecting men
- Sound knowledge of child protection issues and current relevant legislation.
- Knowledge of the Canterbury LGA – in particular services for men;
- Experience in program planning and evaluation, information and referral
- Cultural competency;
- Highly developed communication skills both written and verbal;
- Ability to prioritise competing demands, delegate and complete the tasks within agreed timeframes;
- Knowledge and understanding of EEO, OH&S, Access & Equity and ethical practice;
- Computer and IT literacy.
Desirable:
- Language other than English.
- Drivers license and own car
