The Centre for Disability Studies (CDS) has an exciting contractor opportunity for experienced Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, Speech Pathologists, Psychologists and Specialist Support Coordinators.

Join our I-CAN DSOA contractor team, administering support needs assessments for older people with disability across Australia.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Centre for Disability Studies (CDS) is contracted to provide independent support needs assessments for older people with disability receiving DSOA funding from the Commonwealth Department of Health. CDS is currently recruiting to increase our pool of contractors who are trained to conduct these assessments using the I-CAN DSOA tool.

The I-CAN DSOA tool is an online support needs assessment designed to assess and guide support delivery for people with disability.

Contractors will be required to conduct I-CAN DSOA assessments for older people with disability located around Australia. Assessments will be conducted remotely via videoconference or teleconference.

Contractors will be provided with training to learn to use the I-CAN DSOA tool, a licence to administer the tool, insurance and ongoing clinical and administrative support.

ABOUT YOU

The key qualifications, experience and attributes required to effectively operate in the role are:

  • Qualification in Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Speech Pathology or Social Work, or experience working as a Specialist Support Coordinator
  • Clinical experience working with people with disability, preferably older people
  • If you are an allied health professional, full AHPRA registration or other relevant professional membership
  • National Criminal Record Check (less than 2 years old)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience administering assessment tools and clinical report writing
  • Ability to conduct assessments via teleconference and videoconference
  • Strong computer skills, including the ability to use an online assessment platform

As a contractor you will need to provide:

  • An ABN
  • Your own internet connection and telephone
  • Your own computer with webcam
  • Your own workspace
  • A private email address, not shared with other family members or colleagues

If you are successful in this role you must be available to attend live training via Zoom on:

  • Thursday 20 January, 12:00pm – 4:30pm AEDT

CHRISTMAS CLOSURE PERIOD
