What does the role involve?

Reporting to the Trusts and Foundations Manager, you will be responsible for delivering Caritas Australia’s Mission, through the growth of funding from Trusts, Foundations Private Ancillary Funds (PAFs), and Multilateral Government Funders that will lead to increased income and support for Caritas Australia.

Key responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Developing detailed submissions and proposals thereby contributing to the Philanthropy Team’s overall income objectives.
  • Preparing effective, compelling grant applications tailored to the interests of each Supporter to successfully position the agency for sustainable growth.
  • Identifying and profiling new opportunities to engage with Supporters who are trustees/directors.
  • Developing and managing the production of presentations, agreements, internal and external reports to facilitate the acquisition and successful delivery of current and future funding partnerships.

This role is based in our Mascot office and will work a hybrid model, including two days in the office per week.

Who are we looking for?

For this role, we are seeking a highly organised and dynamic individual, who is committed to making a difference in the world.

The successful candidate will have a mix of the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Three years’ experience in a grant writing or fundraising role, with proven success with high-value income generation through grant submissions in either a not-for-profit, government or corporate environment.
  • Proven communication and collaboration skills.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills as well as proven written skills including demonstrated ability to write compelling and persuasive written material of the highest quality and accuracy.
