About the Role
We are seeking a kind, enthusiastic community care professional to promote and coordinate our Homeshare program. As a Homeshare Coordinator, you will work collaboratively with clients to find suitable volunteers for a shared living arrangement in lieu of 10 hours support each week. In this role you will:
- Raise awareness and promotion of the Homeshare program
- Undertake promotion, liaison and networking to recruit appropriate clients (householders) and volunteers (homesharers) for the Homeshare program.
- Develop appropriate resources for the promotion of the program and deliver presentations as required
- Maintain program waiting lists, respond to enquiries about the program and conduct initial screening for eligibility and suitability for the program.
- Undertake thorough assessment of potential participants in the program, including assessment of applicants eligibility, suitability and decision making capacity. Assessments include conducting interviews, home visits, reference checks, and police checks.
- Conduct regular reviews to ensure suitable matches
- Ensure operations are conducted ethically, fairly and within the statutory legal and contractual requirements.
About You
To be successful in the role you will be able to demonstrate:
- An understanding of and experience in the delivery of person-centred practices and program delivery
- Experience in recruiting volunteers and coordinating volunteer programs
- Knowledge of the National Standards for Involving Volunteers in Not-for-Profit Organisations
- Excellent planning and organisational skills in managing self and a busy program
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (listening, written and verbal), and liaison skills
- Ability to maintain professional standards whilst building relationships to support people to live independent and fulfilling lives
- Confidence in delivering public presentations, community networking and liaison and in promoting a program or service
- Experience with meeting KPIs in a performance-driven environment
- Experience in the Microsoft Office suite and exposure and/or ability to acquire skills in the mobile use of client database systems
Qualifications:
- Certificate IV in community development/health or welfare or a relevant discipline, or a related field
- In the absence of completed qualifications, experience in the delivery of person-centred practices in non complex and/or complex case management
