Colac Area Health is a values based organisation providing a unique integrated health service comprising of over 500 employees, providing Acute Care, Aged Care, Community and Allied Health Services.

Family and Community Programs service model focus on risk, safety and the wellbeing of our clients and community. Our operational framework is within the social model of health and the underlying social determinants of health. The program works within DFFH legislation, policies, data metrics and reporting. Research is supported and encouraged as is innovative service models that align to our community profiles.

Service provision is evidence informed by theories of practice and goal directed by our clients. 

The Manger of Family and Community Programs is responsible for the scoping planning, implementation and monitoring of the programs business activities. This includes but not limited to safety and quality leadership, budget management, human resources management, reporting, program models and partnership participation.

The Family and Community Programs manager will oversee the delivery of a variety of programs on behalf of Colac Area Health. These programs include Family Violence, Orange Door Access point, Family Services, Homelessness, AOD, Regional Networkers roles, financial counselling and children counselling.

We recognise that partnerships are key to our ability to enhance our models of care within Community Health. 

What’s required?

  • Tertiary qualifications in social work, psychology, community development or a related field. With current registration with the appropriate registration board. 
  • Experience in program management preferably in the family violence, mental health and/or homelessness sector. 
  • Experience in facilitating staff supervision, within strengths based approach and trauma informed practice framework. 
  • Demonstrated background or training relevant to working with clients with complex needs, including family violence, alcohol, drugs, CALD and/or mental illness. 
  • Demonstrated positive and effective stakeholder management with other agencies in a service or community network. 
  • Highly developed communication skills with clients and colleagues, including those from diverse cultural backgrounds. 
  • Experience in risk management including client and staff safety, confidentiality, duty of care, mandatory reporting, in accordance to relevant legislation. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. 
  • Current Victorian Drivers’ Licence.
  • Psychometric assessment will be required 

Desirable

  • Tertiary qualifications in team leadership and/or management. 
  • Experience maintaining program data on a relevant computer based program or database e.g. SHIP. 
  • Knowledge of the Family Violence Protection Act 2008 and the Common Risk Assessment Framework (CRAF) MARAM
